The profile

Designer, developer and the only member of staff at The Valdane Dispatch.
Teo grew up above a print shop in Lisbon, falling asleep to the rhythm of an offset press. Decades later the press is a browser, but the obsession is the same: type that sits just right, pages that hold attention, and the quiet satisfaction of a job done properly.
After studying communication design, Teo spent five years in studios in Porto and Copenhagen, designing and building campaign sites, museum archives and product launches. In 2021 he went independent to work closer to the people he designs for.
The practice is small on purpose. Every project is designed and developed by the same pair of hands, which means fewer handovers, faster decisions and details that survive all the way to launch.
Away from the desk, he teaches motion and typography workshops, collects old type specimens and argues about kerning with anyone who will listen.
